I used White Sands for a pool resurfacing and the main office is the worst company that I have ever dealt with. Impossible to get any answers, horrible communication with me as a client, and I am not sure of the persons position but I believe they are a manager of some kind but Amber is the least professional person I have ever spoken with. I had an issue with the timing and communication(this was about the 5th time I had had an issue on the project) around the final surface and re-fill of the pool.

When I spoke to Amber to try to get clarification on why this was not communicated to me as I was out of town when this was done and came home to an overflowing pool, Amber hung up on me. When I called back my call was continuously redirected to the answering service. I called back on my wifes phone which was answered right away by the main office, I asked for Amber and after being placed on hold for about 5 minutes the woman came back on the phone and told me that Amber was not available right now but I heard Amber in the background utter some very unprofessional things about me as a customer.

I would not recommend this company in any way, shape, or form to anyone. I will say that all of the actual laborers who came out were great but they unfortunately work with a terrible company

We used White Sands, they were good but not great. Mark Parent, the sales guy was amazing; he was the best part about our experience. The pool resurfacing process took longer than the initial timeline given, and there were communication issues between the main office and the workers. Our pool looks great but there are still some noticeable imperfections from when they applied the final coating.

They told us these imperfections should go away as the pool cures, but it's been 4 months and it's still there. The manager has repeatedly promised to come out, but still hasn't. Also, we wanted them to replace our broken pool light and we reminded them as the construction process went on. They could've done it while the pool was empty but they did not.

They ended up finishing and filling up the pool without fixing/replacing the light. White Sands is highly recommended locally, and it's for a reason. But I advise to stay on top of the construction crew (post demo) and the main office.

Great work! Our pool was starting to chip away in many places and the tile was awful. White Sands came out and gave us a good estimate that beat every other pool refinisher we had talked to, some were easily twice the price and they wouldn't do the tile or the concrete work etc. White Sands did everything and they worked well with the paver/coping contractor and got the coordination down.

They had different teams doing different stages, but we had no issues and it all came out beautifully (see pics). Would definitely recommend, although we had a lot of go around with scheduling initially due to various recommended paver companies bailing out or double/triple the initial estimates for pavers, but we finally landed on a decent paver company that came through perfectly.

They cleaned up everything and they even laid out a huge plastic sheet under the sprayer truck to keep the mess down. There was a lot of unavoidable foot traffic, but they left the place spotless and the pool is fantastic! Would recommend highly!

White Sands stands behind their work! We had built a new pool and hired White Sands to install the pebble finish of both our spa and pool. They came highly recommended to us from a friend that has had multiple pool finishes installed for them. During the install they were on time and did a beautiful job. When the pool was filled with water they quickly came out before the weekend to complete the pool startup/chemicals and my family and I were very excited to swim in it for the first time.

But that is not why I am writing this review. Where White Sands really excelled their integrity and craftsmanship was when we had a problem, our pool was losing water. In my own mind this was a very stressful situation for me because all I could think of is all the money we just spent on the pool and now I need to spend more. I called White Sands and they came out immediately.

They found the leak and it ended up being a rather involved repair process. I don't blame White Sands, things happen. In fact, it may have been the design of the over sized main drain that we have. The most important thing is that they took care of the problem and NEVER ONCE did White Sands question us or give any push back. Very impressive and glad we choose White Sands. We highly recommend them, great company and great people. Thank you White Sands for helping us with our dream pool!

Great job, wonderful crews, quality abounds. We had a surfacing that, after 13 years, and a potential screw up from our pool cleaning company had to be redone. Jarrett from White Sands came to review our situation and reluctantly showed us areas that were de-laminated, etc. He offered us a very attractive price, and I agreed, with one stipulation.

Our grand daughter was to have a 14 yr old pool party at our house in 4 weeks, and the pool needed to be completed by the Friday before the party. It was nip and tuck for a while, the weather didn't cooperate, but Jarrett and crews pulled through, working late the last couple of days to ensure that we had the pool in time. That included the owners coming in the last days to help out. Kevin and Kim, who have owned the company for a really long time, didn't need to be working on our pool. But, as they said, they made us a commitment and they were going to deliver.

The quality of the work is absolutely incredible. Everyone that touched our pool appeared to take a lot of pride in what they did. The surface is stunning, the workmanship top rate and we are very excited and happy. I highly recommend White Sands Pool Plastering.

I have a 27 year old pool that was leaking around the light, marcite wearing away in chunks. time to refinish. I contacted three pool companies to get an estimate for refinishing. White Sands was by far the most professional, accommodating, and reasonable. There were no high pressure sales tactics, Mark met me to provide the estimate at MY convenience (unlike the others), and all of my options were laid out clearly.

When I decided to go with them, they laid out step by step what would be happening during the process. Stacey and Ashley kept in touch with me regularly to give me updates, since I couldn't be home during the work. After filling the pool, I noticed we had a leak. I called the office and they sent someone out to check the next day. Turns out it wasn't the preexisting leak around the light (they had fixed that), it was a new leak in the skimmer.

They repaired it for me at no charge, even though it wasn't their responsibility. I cannot praise this company enough. I have dealt with a LOT of contractors over the years, and this company says what it means, and means what it says. And follows through with exceptional craftsmanship. Thank you White Sands! I have already referred you to three people looking for refinishing.

I decided to have the pool relined because the old pebbletech was worn and we had white epoxy patches which looked horrible. White Sands came highly recommended by a friend, so I contacted them. The pool looked great initially but we have had problems with it leaking ever since. The last time I called them they had me pay for their leak detection company of choice to come and check the pool.

I had wanted to use a company that I knew but was told I had to use theirs or they would not accept the report. The leak detection company came, made the report and proceeded to fix' the leaks using white epoxy. So now I have white epoxy ruining the look of the pool again. What a waste of $4,400.00. I suggest that if you need your pool replastered you look elsewhere. They are a total disgrace. They don't deserve any stars at all.

When we signed on to get our pool done a few years ago we had stipulated a particular finish for the pool that was selected out of the number of variants shown to us in the sample book. As luck would have it I was not in attendance on the day the company actually did the work, and when I turned up the following day to take a look at the pool discovered they had given us the wrong color!

My wife got hold of the rep, who started talking out of both sides of his mouth and brazenly told her "so what's the big deal? Once the pool's filled you can't tell the difference anyway!" Yes folks, he seriously said that! So I guess as far as White Sands is concerned anything the customer selects is basically just a moot point and it's up to White Sands to decide if they'll accommodate the customers wishes or not.

They guy literally reduced my wife to tears with his brusque attitude, and only backed down when I emailed later with an angry response to his behavior. So back to square one, and White Sands returned to layer on ANOTHER coat of the pool finish - I thought they'd grind off the previous one they'd saddled us with because it is actually quite a thick layer, but no, they just put the new one over it.

So fine, we ended up getting the color we wanted, but with one layer on top of the other they ended up making the pool sides look like they're bulging out a bit, and the recess for the underwater pool light is so tight that it won't house properly - within a week of their finished the job the light simply fell out and landed on the bottom of the pool.

Try as I might, working with a snorkel and mask, I could never get the light to go back properly into the wall, ended up getting longer bolts, and left it sticking out in ugly fashion. A few months later a small hole appeared at the bottom of the shallow end, and the tenant who was living there flatly denied having anything to do with it. It was a neat round hole, and I suspected one of her kids had speared the cleaning pole into the pool, though she claimed one of her kids had jumped in, hit the bottom with his heel, and the surface had crumbled away.

I leaned towards the pole theory, regardless of which I contacted White Sands to ask what they could do about it - they sent out someone who applied an underwater patch (meaning they didn't drain out the pool, just applied some other kind of compound that wasn't like the original finish) and even though I thought it marred what had been our nice new finish we decided to live with it. Unfortunately, over time the surface began to crumble away around the patch, to a point where it eventually became apparent that if we didn't do something about it more and more of the new surface would get compromised - what had started out as a hole about the size of a dollar coin ended up about the size of a bread plate.

What was apparent, both with the original hole and the ensuing crumbling, was that it only involved the second layer - not the first one they'd put down. Everything seemed to suggested that the bonding agent for the second layer was poor - that or putting one over another had created a weak bond. We contacted White Sands a month or so ago and asked them to sort the situation out for us, including grinding out the light recess to make it sit better.

This time they drained the pool out, but gave us a patch of supposedly matching material that clearly doesn't blend in. As for the light? It fell out again with days - clearly they did nothing to fix the hole. That they did this follow-up work without charge is fine - but what's the point if it's poorly done? Besides which they were at least responsible for fixing up the light recess.

Overall our experience with White Sands has not been a happy one. Just unprofessional and lackadaisical in their follow-up work. Their loss as well in respect of the fact that our own pool will need resurfacing soon - safe to say we won't be using their services.

After thorough research, review reading, and estimates, I give White Sands Pool Plastering A+++. Competitive price, all the staff is wonderful and nice, and the end result of my pool resurfacing is awesome. They did a great job! Cindy was our point person from getting the estimate, picking colors, answering questions etc. She really listened to what both my husband and I liked and didn't like, and came up with great suggestions on pebble color, tile and mosaic choices and she and all the staff answered our questions promptly. The end result is fabulous and turned out just as we had envisioned. Job took two weeks, which is what they said. Highly recommend!

I have used White Sands for several pools. Their customer service has gone downhill since my first experience with them. Their office staff is now rude and very unhelpful. The finished product in my pool was good (except for the leak they would not admit they caused.) They did not start the work on time, they destroyed my grass and landscape lights, and were not careful with my property. Next time I need a pool refinished I will definitely use a different company.
